OCCA members win at the OFVC Craft Cider Competition

(Toronto, ON – February 23, 2015) The Ontario Craft Cider Association (OCCA) was a part of the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Convention this past week from February 18-19 2015. As a group, the OCCA won five of top three areas in each category at the competition. Spirit Tree won first in the Craft Cider Common Cider category, while West Avenue and Twin Pines came second in two of the categories. See below for the rest of the winners:

2015 Winners – Craft Cider Common Cider Category
First – Spirit Tree Apple Lager, Caledon
Second – Twin Pines Hammer Bent Red, Thedford
Third – West Avenue Cider Heritage Dry, Caledon

2015 Winners – Craft Cider Specialty Cider Category
First – Bonnieheath Estate, Waterford
Second – West Avenue Cherry-osity, Caledon
Third – Spirit Tree Dry Hopped Cider, Caledon

This was the Craft Cider Competition’s second year showcasing even more craft ciders from all over Ontario. There were two categories in this year’s event showcasing the different aspects of each individual cider. The categories included: the common cider category which started last year as well as the new specialty/flavoured category.
